Old Art Let Out to Breathe.

This was made in May 2009, just before my 'Phoenix Rising' art. I was desperate to draw anything phoenix after looking through the graphic novel, End Song. The pose was sketched out on paper and scanned in. It was probably my first attempt at having no line art in the final painting. I wanted it to be dramatic, but i think i lost my way towards the end. The hair was changed repeatedly and i think is probably hair version 4 or something.
The art didnt live up to my expectations because although the colours are dramatic, the face and body seem too flawed. It was left unfinished as you can see from her sash. I decided to stow this art away so that i could get better at digital painting, and then look back later on.
It was sitting in a folder all buring with rage, and so i decided she should take her place online with the others. (Even if she is in the scraps folder.)
